Following the postponement of her earlier performance due to illness, we're delighted that Rachel Sermanni will now join Lucie Hendry for this special evening at Birnam Arts.
Drawing from a deep well of mysticism, dreams and nature, Rachel's music feels right at home among the wild and wondrous. Her songs — rooted in contemporary folk and touched by jazz, rock and traditional sounds — speak to the simple, complex experience of being human. Rachel will be sharing songs from her new album Dreamer Awake, recorded live to tape in a Devon studio with jazz improvisers, inspired by the works of Nan Shepherd, the rhythms of the natural world, and the transformative journey of becoming a mother.
Lever harpist Lucie Hendry exists in the space between genres, where tradition and musical curiosity intertwine with nature's rich palette of colours and textures. Rooted in the Scottish folk tradition and shaped by the Nordic music scene, her music traces an organic, evolving journey — richly layered, soulful, and immersive.
Lucie is set to tour with her trio to celebrate the release of her second album, Ashes to Art — a reflection on navigating life's shifting seasons, mirrored in the natural cycles of woods, seas, and earth. Joined by Chris Amer (guitar) and Christoffer Skovhus (drums), the trio presents a distinctive blend of original folk music infused with contemporary jazz influences.

Lovely wee cafe with amazing service. Been here 3 times now and always notice how friendly and upbeat the staff are. The coffee and cake is top notch also. Will definitely be back the next time I head to Dunkeld!

Wander upstairs to view the latest of our monthly art exhibitions before visiting the world of Beatrix Potter, or the Gift Shop to purchase a special gift for your loved ones or yourself!
We’ve always enjoyed Birnam Arts and all it has to offer - lovely venue, library and classes and a great friendly cafe.
