Join Jessica Ramm in conversation with Birnam Arts’ Visual Arts Development and Programme Manager Helen Reid. This discussion will unpack Jessica’s creative journey, as well as the ideas and process behind ‘Conglomerates’ exhibition.
Jessica Ramm trained at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee (2009), specialising in mechanical sculpture. In 2014, she trained at Edinburgh College of Art, where she studied printmaking, material culture and sculpture, positioned within alternative economies. Her recent projects include commissions to bring lumiere sculptures into public spaces and a printmaking-stunt riding performance working with a group of Glasgow based BMX riders. She is a founding member of Mammas Write; a collective that fosters resilience for mothers through creativity and solidarity. She writes for other artists and art organisations as a way of drawing attention to the power of creativity and supporting the creative community she is part of.

Pop in to the Foyer Cafe for breakfast, grab a delicious coffee with a selection of our homemade baking or enjoy a light lunch whilst browsing on the free WiFi. Wander upstairs to view the latest of our monthly art exhibitions before visiting the world of Beatrix Potter, or the Gift Shop to purchase a special gift for your loved ones or yourself!
Compact Arts & Conference Centre, it is also the exhibition centre for Beatrix Potter with an adjacent themed garden. The centre has a cafe with indoor / outdoor seating areas. Throughout the year the arts centre hosts a variety of different acts, shows, talks & exhibitions.
