In this cyanotype workshop participants will make prints using uv sunlight. We will begin by teaching the process of how cyanotypes work, then through drawing, collating and arranging objects we will create imagery for the cyanotypes prints. Materials will be provided, however feel free to bring a couple of fun or friendly shapes from home to use in the printing process.
Cyanotype photography is a fun camera-less technique that involves arranging a layer of objects or images on paper coated in a solution prior to exposing it to uv light. When washed with water there are beautiful blue images left printed on the paper.

These sessions are appropriate for children from P1 to P7 i.e. kids who have just completed Primary 1, up to those going into Primary 7.
The actual cost per session is much higher than the given costs as we feel it is important to pay tutors according to Scottish Artist Union rates and provide access to quality materials and experiences. To ensure our holiday sessions are affordable during the school holidays, Birnam Arts subsidises this with further support from Creative Scotland.
We are offering the sessions on a Sliding Scale framework. Please be honest and pay what you can afford.
