Artist Call Out: We are seeking work to be included in our Winter Exhibition at Birnam Arts. The title of the exhibition is ‘Winter Moonlight’ and this theme can be interpreted however the artist wishes. This is a selling exhibition and all media will be accepted; in the past this has included but is not limited to painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles, ceramics and jewellery.
We are also interested in hearing from non-selling artists who wish to engage with the theme of ‘Winter Moonlight’ and we welcome performances or similar which could form part of a public programme relating to the exhibition.
The exhibition will take place at Birnam Arts between Saturday 2nd December 2023 and Sunday 14th January 2024. If you are selected for the exhibition, artwork must be delivered to Birnam Arts on Tuesday 28th November 2023 and collected (if it doesn’t sell during the exhibition) on Monday 15th January 2024.
To apply, you will be required to submit the following information via email ( visualarts@birnamarts.com ) , before the closing date of Sunday 22nd October 2023 (midnight):
Please send us:
Exhibition proposal (max. 500 words)
Artist statement (max. 200 words)
Your artist CV, including a link to your website/social media channels
Digital images (no more than 10 images, submitted as JPEGs) to illustrate the EXACT work you are applying to exhibit. Please ensure that these images are well-lit and in focus. If images are too large to share alongside this email please send via WeTransfer, or similar, including a reference to this application.
The Birnam Arts exhibition programme promotes equality, diversity and inclusion in all areas. We actively encourage applications from artists from an ethnic minority background, from LGBTQ+ communities, artists living with a disability, neurodivergent artists, artists balancing their work with care responsibilities, in particular mothers returning to the arts after having children, and artists living and working in areas of multi-deprivation. We are also committed to addressing environmental and climate issues and we welcome applications that explore this subject matter.
All submissions are considered carefully, but as we are such a small team, we’re unfortunately unable to offer feedback on individual proposals. We look forward to hearing from you!
To apply, you will be required to submit the required information via email
