As one of the key goals of Birnam Arts, local community group and individuals are able to hire out the facilities at a reduced rate.
Many different community groups use the facilities of Birnam Arts. Summary information and contact details for a selection of local groups can be found below.
With a season which runs from September through to May, the society seeks to promote the arts, particularly the art of film and allied visual techniques. The programme is selected by the members to contain a mix of contemporary releases which may have not been shown in local commercial cinemas as well as old classics and favourites.
Films are shown at Birnam Arts, usually on the second & fourth Sundays of each month, starting at 7:30pm Doors open at 7:00pm and there is a bar and light refreshments available before each screening.
Membership of the society is £25 for the season. Visitors and guests are welcome.
The Drama Club for the Dunkeld and Birnam area and its surrounding districts – has been in its present form since 2002, although its roots go back many years.
We meet most Mondays in Birnam Arts at 7.30pm. The club is a member of the Scottish Community Drama Association.
Membership is open to anyone interested in drama whether onstage, backstage, or front of house. New members are always welcome – if you think you might like to join us, please get in touch through the form on the BIPS website.
We offer one-off woodwind ensemble workshops in Perthshire, specifically intended for adult learners or rusty 'returners' on flute, oboe, clarinet or bassoon, for workshops and light-hearted 'play-along' events that give late-starter brass or bowed string players a fun experience.
Each workshop is a free-standing event, so there iswith no pressure to commit to regular attendance, and it popular with those commitments prevent them from participating in a community band or orchestra.

The Field in Dunkeld is a place to grow vegetables by the community, for the community, and lies a short walk from the centre of Dunkeld.
As a community, we grow our produce on a large scale rather than small allotments, allowing us to produce enough throughout the growing season and beyond for our two weekly market stalls, including Tuesday mornings outside Birnam Arts.
Importantly, we grow our vegetables according to organic principles, with no insecticides or artificial fertiliser, and all our seeds are organically sourced.
Annual membership runs from 1st February, supporting the ongoing costs and providing a 20% discount on produce.
The Society was formed in 1976, meeting on the second Monday of each month. At present we have a membership of around 70.

Happy to support this incredible venue which hosted our wedding 3 years ago now. Still the best day of our lives and the Birnam arts played a huge part in that!
