DNA: WE KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING
LIVE UK TOUR
Tuesday 5th March,Doors 7:30pm
Following their astounding appearances on the eleventh series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2017, mind reading duo DNA are taking their brand new show called We Know What You’re Thinking out on a UK tour from 6th February – 29th March 2019.
Andrew and Darren, best known as mind reading double act DNA, took the nation by storm when they appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2017 with their incredible telepathic ability known as "The Gift". Wowing the judges, live audience and viewers at home, the duo went on to reach the live finals of the hit ITV talent show. Their first audition has reached almost 10 million YouTube views alone.
Performed completely live, they can ask volunteers to concentrate on the name of celebrities, telephone numbers, credit card numbers, a word in a book, the name of the street they grew up on, a relative’s name... literally anything. With devastating speed and accuracy, the pair are then able to reveal what that name, number or word is, every time.

Townsend Theatre Productions presents
Rouse Ye Women: Mary Macarthur and the Women Chainmakers.
A Folk Opera by Neil Gore and John Kirkpatrick
Thursday 28th March
7.30pm
£12/£10/£5 U26s
In 1910 the women chainmakers of Cradley Heath focused the world’s attention on the plight of Britain’s low-paid women workers involved in the ‘home-working sweated industries’, hammering out chain-links in sheds in the backyards of their homes, with their babies and children, for 5 shillings (25p) for a 50-hour week. Led by the charismatic union organiser and campaigner, Mary Reid Macarthur, hundreds of women laid down their tools to strike for a living wage. The success of the ten-week strike more than doubled their earnings and helped to make the principle of a national minimum wage a reality.
Through rousing traditional songs and moving ballads, Townsend Theatre Productions reveals the horrors of the sweated labour, Mary Macarthur’s stunning national campaign to expose the perpetrators of this appalling employment, the universal sympathy for the workers, the flood of donations, and the events that led to a final victory.

Simon Evans: Genius
Wednesday 3rd April
Doors 7.30pm
£14.50 (includes £1.50 booking fee)
Ages 14+ (under 16s to be accompanied by adult)
Advisory: Likely to be adult content/swearing.
“A masterclass in socio-political comedy…The Show is called Genius. It comes very close” ***** THE SCOTSMAN
Ever since he was a small boy, all Evans really wanted was to be recognised by the world as a man of genius. He has, until now, remained thwarted. The world seems increasingly indifferent to true genius of any kind, let alone Evans'. Endlessly distracted by the trivial, we allow the classical tools of grammar, logic and rhetoric to lie unregarded in the shed of consciousness, rusting to a picturesque hue that would actually look really great on Instagram. But which filter? Hmmm…

Unspotted Snow
By Peter Arnott
A Mull Theatre production

7.30pm
£12/£10/£5 U26s
A light-hearted theatrical romp from Mull Theatre featuring starvation, scurvy, cannibalism… and some jolly tunes! Set partly on the barren ice floes of the Arctic and partly in the stultifying drawing room of Lady Jane Franklin, Unspotted Snow is a ripping yarn - a bold and adventurous tale of tragedy, mishap, folly, arrogance, madness and betrayal, Victorian heroism ... and ruthless news management.
Join us to explore and discover the hazy, crazy half-truths, rumours and scandals that besmirched the unspotted snow of the great white north.
“Yet rarely in Scottish theatre can there have been a more perfect match between company and script; and if you simply want a good theatrical night…they finally send the audience off into the night with the warm feeling of having had a memorably good laugh”

Wonder Fools presents
549: Scots of the Spanish Civil War
Sunday 16th June 8pm
£12/£5 U26s
COMRADES OF THE INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE: YOU CAN GO PROUDLY. YOU ARE HISTORY.
YOU ARE LEGEND.
1936: In villages, towns and cities across Scotland, 549 lives are gradually intertwining.
People of contrasting backgrounds, ideologies and religions; spurred on by their burning passion for equality and freedom, they will form the Scottish ranks of the Spanish Civil War’s legendary International Brigade.
2017: The country is divided. In a small pub in Prestonpans, East Lothian, four millennials are told a story; the true story of four local miners who, 80 years ago, travelled from the streets of Prestonpans to the valleys of Spain. They gave up everything that was familiar: for a land that was not, for a people they had never met and for a cause they believed was right.
549, a play with songs and storytelling is a timely and important insight into one of Scotland’s almost forgotten conflicts.
Please note: Strong language, re-enactment of war, loud noises, 14+
There is a special thrill in seeing the play performed, this week, in Prestonpans Town Hall, a building these men would have known well, in front of the kind of local audience, reliving part of their own history, that has been thin on the ground in Scottish theatre since the demise of 7:84 Scotland and Wildcat
