Unspotted Snow

Description:

Unspotted Snow
By Peter Arnott
A Mull Theatre production
Friday 26th April
7.30pm
£12/£10/£5 U26s

A light-hearted theatrical romp from Mull Theatre featuring starvation, scurvy, cannibalism… and some jolly tunes! UNSPOTTED SNOW is based on the ill-fated 1845 Sir John Franklin expedition to discover the North-West passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific and its extraordinary 170-year legacy. Set partly on the barren ice floes of the Arctic and partly in the stultifying drawing room of Lady Jane Franklin, Unspotted Snow is a ripping yarn - a bold and adventurous tale of tragedy, mishap, folly, arrogance, madness and betrayal, Victorian heroism ... and ruthless news management.

Join us to explore and discover the hazy, crazy half-truths, rumours and scandals that besmirched the unspotted snow of the great white north.

“Yet rarely in Scottish theatre can there have been a more perfect match between company and script; and if you simply want a good theatrical night…they finally send the audience off into the night with the warm feeling of having had a memorably good laugh”

Joyce McMillan THE SCOTSMAN (On Whisky Galore)

Mull Theatre, has taken more than 40 major projects to more than 300 venues – from Shetland, through Orkney, on almost every island off the west coast, down every highway and byway, on isolated peninsulas and in secluded glens – you name it, they’ve been there.

A light-hearted theatrical romp from Mull Theatre featuring starvation, scurvy, cannibalism… and some jolly tunes!
