Andrew "Finn" Magill with Sean Gray

Andrew Finn Magill with Sean Gray
Saturday 30th March
£12/£10/£5 U26s

Traditional Irish, Jazz, Brazilian Bluegrass, and Old-Time

Raised in an Irish musical household in Asheville, North Carolina Andrew “FINN THE FIDDLER” MAGILL grew up studying with many of the world’s best traditional American and Irish fiddlers. Finn’s built his career on Irish music, having performed with John Doyle, Liz Carroll, the Paul McKenna Band, and Martin Hayes, amongst many other Irish luminaries.

Finn’s appearing at Birnam Arts with the brilliant Ayrshire musician, Sean Gray on guitar and flute.

“Finn Magill displays a love and authenticity that can fool you into thinking he is from Brazil. His style is playful and light, yet soulful and passionate. Congratulations!” (on Canto, Violino)

He’s also taught Irish fiddle, bluegrass, old-time and Brazilian choro at more than a dozen fiddle camps across the world – in 2014 Finn moved to Rio de Janeiro and plunged head on into absorbing Brazilian musical influences. His latest album Canta, Violino! is being considered for a Grammy nomination in not one, but four categories this year.
