Horse McDonald in Careful

Gilded Balloon presents
Horse McDonald in Careful
Written by Lyn Ferguson
Directed by Maggie Kinloch

Friday 24th March, 7.30pm

The world premiere of Scottish singer-songwriter Horse McDonald’s autobiographical play, CAREFUL - a journey from a Kelpie Six in the Brownies to one of Scotland's most celebrated singers, and through those times when she had to be... careful. Growing up gay in Lanark in the 70s, when the reward was half a pack of fruit pastilles… when, later, the lady on the train tells you about the doctor you should meet…

Horse McDonald is iconic. She has few peers and her breath-taking stagecraft is utterly unique. Her voice has been described as a ‘finely honed instrument’, moving and uplifting. Having released eight albums over the years, her latest, Home, was released under Horse’s own label Randan Records. Horse has opened and toured with international artists such as Tina Turner, BB King, Bryan Ferry and Burt Bacharach.
