With a well-deserved reputation of doing exactly what it says on the tin, Opera on a Shoestring present an array of arias and ensembles, both well-known and well worth getting to know – music by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini and many more operatic delicacies.
The company was founded over fifteen years ago to promote opera on a small scale throughout Scotland, and to provide a platform for young singers and other opera professionals, born or trained here. As tonight’s concert demonstrates, Opera on a Shoestring are continuing to put their founding ideals into practice with a programme featuring Scottish and Scottish-based musicians, some at the start of their careers, who are at home with this most international of art forms.
